গণতান্ত্রিক আকাঙ্ক্ষাকে সমুন্নত রাখাসহ ৮টি প্রাথমিক কাজ সামনে রেখে আত্মপ্রকাশ করেছে জাতীয় নাগরিক কমিটি।

রোববার বিকালে রাজধানীর কেন্দ্রীয় শহিদ মিনারে আয়োজিত অনুষ্ঠানে ৫৫ সদস্যের জাতীয় নাগরিক কমিটি আত্মপ্রকাশ করে।

নাগরিক কমিটির মুখপাত্র হিসেবে থাকছেন অ্যাকটিভিস্ট সামান্তা শারমিন। 

আহ্বায়ক রয়েছেন অ্যাকটিভিস্ট ও সংগঠক মুহাম্মদ নাসির উদ্দিন পাটোয়ারি ওরফে নাসির আব্দুল্লাহ। সদস্যসচিব হয়েছেন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কেন্দ্রীয় ছাত্র সংসদের (ডাকসু) সাবেক সমাজসেবা সম্পাদক ও গণতান্ত্রিক ছাত্রশক্তির আহ্বায়ক আখতার হোসেন।

বৈষম্যবিরোধী ছাত্র আন্দোলনে নিহত আহনাফ হোসেনের বোন সাইয়েদা আক্তার এ নামগুলো ঘোষণা করেন। বক্তব্য দেন নিহত রায়হান হোসেন সাদ্দামের বোন স্বর্ণা খাতুন।

আহ্বায়ক কমিটির প্রাথমিক কাজগুলোর মধ্যে রয়েছে— ছাত্র–জনতার ওপর সংঘটিত নির্মম হত্যাযজ্ঞে জড়িতদের বিচারের আওতায় এনে শাস্তি নিশ্চিত করার লক্ষ্যে প্রয়োজনীয় কর্মসূচি গ্রহণ, রাষ্ট্রের জরুরি সংস্কার ও পুনর্গঠন করার লক্ষ্যে অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন সরকারের সঙ্গে সহযোগিতা ও জবাবদিহির পরিসর তৈরি, বিভিন্ন সামাজিক, সাংস্কৃতিক ও রাজনৈতিক উদ্যোগের সঙ্গে আলোচনা, মতবিনিময় ও গণমুখী কর্মসূচির মাধ্যমে সর্বস্তরের জনতাকে সংহত করার লক্ষ্যে কাজ করা, দেশের সর্বস্তরের সামাজিক, সাংস্কৃতিক ও ধর্মীয় নেতৃত্বকে সংহত করে গণ–অভ্যুত্থানের আকাঙ্ক্ষা সমুন্নত করে রাখার লক্ষ্যে ফ্যাসিবাদী কাঠামো ও শক্তির বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিরোধ অব্যাহত রাখা, জনস্বার্থের পক্ষে নীতিনির্ধারণের লক্ষ্যে বিভিন্ন শ্রেণি–পেশার মানুষ এবং প্রবাসী বাংলাদেশিদের সঙ্গে বিষয়ভিত্তিক সংলাপের আয়োজন করা, রাষ্ট্রীয় প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলো পুনর্গঠনের লক্ষ্যে প্রয়োজনীয় নীতিনির্ধারণী প্রস্তাবনা তৈরি ও সেটা বাস্তবায়নে প্রয়োজনীয় রাজনৈতিক পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করা এবং গণপরিষদ গঠন করে গণভোটের মাধ্যমে নতুন গণতান্ত্রিক সংবিধান তৈরির জন্য গণ–আলোচনার আয়োজন করা।

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was detained by police Sunday outside Hard Rock Stadium for a driving violation but has been released from custody, the team announced.

The traffic incident happened about one block away from the stadium, the team said. Several teammates saw the incident and stopped to offer support, according to the team.

Hill is available to play in the Dolphins' season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team said.

Sources told ESPN's Jeff Darlington that Hill was stopped for speeding and then got into a verbal altercation with police and was subsequently placed in handcuffs.

In an interview with ESPN, Hill's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, called it "a heartbreaking situation" that was "completely unnecessary." He said he wants to make sure his client wasn't mistreated and that seeing his client handcuffed was "mindboggling."

"We will investigate," Rosenhaus said. "We will look out for Tyreek."

He added that he was "just thankful Tyreek is OK" and thanked the team for helping to deescalate the situation.

Earlier Sunday, video emerged of Hill being placed in handcuffs while surrounded by multiple police officers.

The new lineup launched into a new single, “The Emptiness Machine,” at the top of the stream. Armstrong’s performance style comfortably continues the band’s legacy: Her full-throated vocals recall Bennington without attempting parody, immediately evidenced on the second song of the set: “Somewhere I Belong.”

“This is a very special day for us,” Shinoda said as he led introductions, mentioning that guitarist Alex Feder was filling in for Delson for the night. “In the role of Chester Bennington this afternoon is each of you,” Shinoda addressed the crowd.

The new Linkin Park also announced a new album, “From Zero.” It releases November 15.

The rock-rap band is one of the most commercially successful acts of the 2000s, aided by Bennington’s vocals. At 41, he died by suicide shortly after the release of the group’s last album, “One More Light.” In the years since, Linkin Park has dropped a number of re-releases, including 20th anniversary editions of “Hybrid Theory,” “Meteora” and, this year, the career-spanning greatest hits collection, “Papercuts.”

Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking,” Shinoda said in a statement announcing the upcoming release.

Armstrong comes from alt-rock band Dead Sara and Brittain is a songwriter and producer who has worked with Papa Roach, One OK Rock and All Time Low, among others. He replaces original drummer Rob Bourdon, who “has decided to step away,” a band representative told The Associated Press.

The band also announced the “From Zero World Tour,” featuring five arena shows in Los Angeles, New York, Hamburg, London and Seoul this month, and a sixth in November in Bogotá, Colombia.
